Donyi Polo Express train now extended from Dimapur to Shukhovi

Chumukedima (Nagaland). Train service was started from a new railway station in Shokhuvi in ​​Nagaland on Friday, thus giving the state its second railway station after more than 100 years. The Dimapur railway station, located in the heart of the commercial center of the state, was inaugurated in 1903.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today flagged off the Donyi Polo Express train from Shokhuwi Railway Station. This train used to run from Guwahati in Assam to Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh. Now it has been extended up to Shukhovi, a few kilometers ahead of Dimapur.

Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh will be directly connected by train service with the extension of the train route to Shukhovi Railway Station. Rio tweeted, “Today is a historic day for Nagaland. The state has got its second railway terminal on the Dhansari-Shukhovy railway line after a gap of more than 100 years.
