New Delhi, May 25 (Hindustan Times). Jordi(Jordi) Alba, the long-serving defender of football club Barcelona, is set to leave the club at the end of the season after 11 remarkable years. Barcelona announced this on Wednesday.
In an official statement, Barcelona said, “Barcelona publicly expresses its gratitude to Jordi Alba for his professionalism, commitment, dedication, and the always positive and warm attitude he has always shown towards everything that makes up the Barcelona family.” ”
Since joining Barcelona from Valencia in 2012, Alba has gone on to win six La Liga titles and one Champions League. He won a total of 19 trophies for the club during his tenure.
Alba played over 450 matches for the club, scoring 27 goals and being instrumental in 91 goals.
On his journey with Barcelona so far, Alba said, “It has been an incredible journey. I am grateful for the memories and the support of the fans. Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart.”
He added, “These are difficult times, and I believe it is important for me to support the club that has given me so much. I want to see Barcelona flourish even after I am gone.”
