It has been said in the draft that the Jharkhand government is going to bring this bill to protect the constitutional rights of the people of the state. Other provisions of punishment have also been made in this bill against the culprits.

The Jharkhand government has decided to bring in the Prevention of Mob Lynching Act to deal strictly with such cases. In the draft of this bill, strict provision of punishment has been made for the guilty. In such cases, a provision of death penalty has been made against those found guilty, so that violence by mobs can be curbed. Under the process, the draft bill will be sent to the Home Department for approval. After that, it will be placed before the cabinet for approval. After getting the green signal from the cabinet, it will be introduced in the assembly.
In the draft of the Mob Lynching Prevention Bill, many provisions of punishment have been made for the culprits. According to the news published in ‘Bhaskar’, if someone gets hurt in the incident of lynching, then the person found guilty in this case can be sentenced to 3 years in jail. Along with this, a fine ranging from 1 to 3 lakh rupees can also be imposed. At the same time, in case of grievous hurt, the guilty can be punished from 10 years to life imprisonment. At the same time, if someone dies in such an incident, then the guilty can be punished with life imprisonment to death. Apart from this, a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh can also be imposed.
In the draft of Jharkhand Mob Lynching Prevention Bill-2021, provisions have also been made against those who abet or conspires for lynching. It clearly states that a person found guilty of conspiring or abetting lynching will be treated as guilty as the person who commits lynching. A provision of 3 years imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 3 lakh has been made for those who save the accused from arrest or help him in any way. The guilty of destroying the evidence will be punished with imprisonment of one year and a fine of up to Rs 50,000. Similarly, those found guilty of cooperating in creating an environment for lynching will be punished with imprisonment of 3 years and a fine of Rs 1 to 3 lakh.
