According to sources, now Congress  (Congress) leader Priyanka Gandhi can contest the Lok Sabha elections from Sonia Gandhi’s seat. It is noteworthy that Rajya Sabha elections are to be held on 3 seats in Rajasthan. There is a possibility of 2 seats going to BJP’s account and 1 seat to Congress’s account.

Congress is also expected to get 2 seats from Telangana, 3 from Karnataka, one seat from Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Himachal, Jharkhand and Bihar. The Madhya Pradesh Congress unit of the Congress had appealed to former party chief Sonia Gandhi to represent the state in the Rajya Sabha. State unit president Jitu Patwari had told on Monday that senior leader Kamal Nath had recently met Sonia Gandhi in Delhi and urged her to consider the demand of the state unit. Patwari had said in a statement, “Madhya Pradesh Congress wants Sonia ji to represent the state in the Rajya Sabha. All the senior leaders and MLAs of the state are unanimous on this demand.” He had said, ‘The Congress party in the state feels that if Sonia ji, who had rejected the post of Prime Minister in the past, goes to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, then the voice of the people will be strengthened.
