Chandigarh: After the Chandigarh Mayor  (Mayor) elections, serious questions were raised on BJP. Allegations were made that despite having less numbers, how did the BJP mayor win? There is a hearing in the Supreme Court this morning. Earlier, the Supreme Court had reprimanded the returning officer who conducted the mayor’s election on February 5. The court had said that it was clear that he had tampered with the ballot papers and he should be prosecuted. The court had also said that the officer’s action is murder and mockery of democracy. The court had also ordered to preserve the ballot papers and video of the voting proceedings.
After the Supreme Court’s displeasure, before anything could happen, the BJP turned the tables. Now it is overpowering the Aam Aadmi Party on both the fronts. He has gathered numbers before replying to the allegations of rigging in the election for the post of Mayor.

BJP vs AAP, who has how many councilors?

Till yesterday, in the 35-member Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, BJP had 14 councilors and Aam Aadmi Party had 13 councilors. Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher also has the right to vote in the Corporation House. There are 7 councilors of Congress and one councilor of Shiromani Akali Dal.
– BJP had won the mayor election on January 30. The alliance of AAP and Congress had accused the returning officer of tampering with the ballot papers. BJP’s Manoj Sonkar defeated AAP’s Kuldeep Kumar. Sonkar got 16 votes and Kumar got 12 votes. The special thing is that out of 36 votes, eight were declared invalid.
Now, due to the defection of three AAP councilors, BJP is in majority with 19 votes in Sonkar’s 36-member House and the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress alliance is left with only 17 votes.
Who are those three?
Three AAP councilors Neha, Poonam and Gurucharan Kala have praised the Prime Minister while accusing their party of being ‘fake’. Poonam Devi said that she has joined BJP after being impressed by the work of Prime Minister Modi. Neha alleged that Aam Aadmi Party made false promises to her.
