Jaipur. Tension prevailed in Udaipur’s Dhanmandi police station area on Monday after two men allegedly brutally murdered a tailor. With a view to maintain law and order on behalf of the Chief Secretary, internet shutdown for the next 24 hours across the state, implementation of section 144 in all districts for the next one month, cancellation of leave of all officers of police and administration, peace committee Instructions have been given to organize the meeting and impose curfew as per requirement in Udaipur district.
The Chief Secretary has instructed all the Divisional Commissioners that the spread of the video of the Udaipur incident through mobile and other means should be strictly prohibited. Along with this, action should be ensured as per rules against the people broadcasting the video.
He said that an appeal should be made to the religious leaders to cooperate in maintaining communal harmony and peace. It is noteworthy that two persons brutally murdered a tailor in Dhanmandi police station area of Udaipur. Putting a video on social media, he said that he did this to avenge the ‘insult to Islam’. After the incident, curfew was imposed in seven police station areas of Udaipur till further orders at 8 pm. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to the people to maintain peace. Both the men, who allegedly carried out the daylight murder, claimed responsibility for the crime by posting a video online and the police have taken them into custody.

Police eye on vigilance and sensitivity
Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Abhay Kumar asked the officials to monitor the situation in all the districts with utmost vigilance and sensitivity. All officers of police and administration should ensure continuous monitoring of law and order in their respective areas. Director General of Police M.L. Lather directed that the police and administration officers should ensure special monitoring to maintain law and order in view of the Udaipur incident. A close watch should be kept on the elements that disturb communal harmony. In the meeting, Director General of Police (Intelligence) Umesh Mishra instructed to take vigil in all the districts.
On the incident of murder in Udaipur, IG Hinglajdan of Udaipur Range said, “Kanhaiya Lal has been murdered today, in this case both the accused have been arrested. In view of law and order in the city, curfew has been imposed. The situation is under control. The police is doing its job.” Earlier, Udaipur SP Manoj Kumar said, “Both the accused have been apprehended. They ran out of Udaipur, we had put up our teams, those teams have caught them. Law and order is under control. Curfew has been imposed in 7 police station areas.
Home Ministry sent a team of NIA to Udaipur
Here, the Union Home Ministry has sent a team of officials of the Anti-Terrorism Investigation Agency (NIA) there after the murder of a Taylor in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The officers provided this information. Officials said that a team of National Investigation Agency has been sent to Udaipur.
After registering a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, this case can be handed over to the NIA for investigation. An official said on condition of anonymity that prima facie it looks like a terrorist attack. Two people have been taken into custody in connection with this incident.
