Politics:A day after the Women’s Reservation Bill failed (Bill failed) in the Lok Sabha, Priyanka Gandhi launched a sharp attack on the ruling NDA government.
She described the development as a “big victory for democracy” and a “black day” for the Centre.
Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Priyanka said the result reflected strong Opposition unity.
She added that it was also a win for the Constitution.
⚖️ “Shock for the First Time”
Priyanka Gandhi said the ruling side faced a major setback.
“It’s a black day for them because they have felt a shock for the first time,” she said.
She claimed the outcome exposed what she called a larger political strategy to stay in power.

Priyanka raised concerns over linking the bill with delimitation.
She questioned how the number of Lok Sabha seats could be changed on such a large scale.
According to her, this move raised doubts about the government’s intent.

The Congress leader clarified that the Opposition supports women’s reservation.
However, she said the current approach was not genuinely about empowering women.
“This was not really about women’s reservation,” she stated.
🏛️ Call to Bring Back 2023 Bill
Priyanka urged the government to reintroduce the 2023 version of the bill.
She said the earlier proposal allowed reservation within existing seats.
“The Opposition will support it,” she added.
