Haryana: The Haryana government has taken a big decision for the lovers of liquor. The drinking age in Haryana has been reduced from 25 years to 21 years. A total of four sections of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Excise (Excise) Act, 1914 were amended. Haryana’s amended Excise Bill has got the assent of Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. This amendment has been implemented in the state since February 11.
Big problem solved after change in law
After the change in the law, the age limit has also been reduced for the manufacture, wholesale or retail sale of any country liquor or drugs. After amending the law, the age limit for this profession has been reduced from 25 years to 21 years by the state government.
Age limit reduced to 21 years
Similarly, under section 29, the licensed seller could not sell or distribute any liquor or drugs to any person below the age of 25 years. After the amendment, the age limit here has also been reduced to 21 years.
Relief in job at liquor shop
At the same time, after the amendment of Section 30, a person below the age of 25 years can now be employed in a liquor shop. Those who have a license to sell liquor or drugs can now employ a young man or girl up to 21 years of age in their business.
Haryana’s new excise policy
The decision to make this amendment in the law related to liquor in Haryana was taken last year only while preparing the new excise policy. Let us tell you that in many states of the country, the legal age for drinking or selling alcohol is 21 years or more.
