The Rajasthan Police is now seeking transit remand from the court to take them to Udaipur. The police will bring Vikram Bhatt and his wife to Udaipur on Monday.
Arrest in a Rs 30 crore case
An officer said that the Udaipur police made the arrest on Sunday in a case of fraud worth Rs 30 crore registered in Rajasthan. Vikram Bhatt and his wife were arrested from Mumbai in connection with this case. The Rajasthan Police will now apply for their transit remand in the Bandra Court on Monday.
Two people have already been arrested
An officer said that two people have already been arrested in this case. Bhatt, his wife Shwetambari Bhatt, and six others are accused of defrauding Dr. Ajay Murdia, the founder of Indira Group of Companies and a resident of Udaipur, of Rs 30 crore. The Udaipur police are investigating this case and have arrested the Bollywood couple.
What is the reason?
Dr. Ajay Murdia wanted to make a biopic about his late wife. He claims that he was promised earnings of Rs 200 crore, but nothing materialized. Following this, Murdia filed a case of fraud and other charges at the police station. Notably, Vikram Bhatt is a famous director and filmmaker in Bollywood.
