Mumbai: Leaders of the opposition alliance ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ ( alliance) will gather for the third meeting of the alliance in Mumbai today. In this two-day meeting, there will be an in-depth discussion on the sheet sharing formula for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and there is also a possibility of announcing a coordination committee and the ‘logo’ of the alliance. Opposition leaders will discuss a joint campaign strategy to take on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and resolve differences among their members.
After BJP’s objection on the name ‘India’, now the opposition alliance has started preparing to put the preamble of the constitution in the theme song. Before the Mumbai meeting, the alliance made it clear that it will not include Shiromani Akali Dal at the expense of Arvind Kejriwal. If Congress sources are to be believed, Mallikarjun Kharge’s name may be proposed for the post of chairperson of the India Alliance. Sonia Gandhi has already refused for this post. If there is a consensus on keeping only one coordinator, then there is a competition between Nitish Kumar and Mamata.
Planning to use the Preamble of the Constitution in the theme song of I.N.D.I.A.
The proposal of four convenors has also been given by some leaders, which will be discussed in the meeting today. The Congress has completely left the issue of the convenor to the consensus of the allies. It has also been learned from the sources that the theme song that was made for the India alliance has been rejected for the time being. Now a new theme song will be made in different languages. In this there is talk of using the Preamble of the Constitution ‘We The People’ ie ‘We the people of India’. Consensus is being made on keeping the map of India in the logo of the alliance.
The India coalition has almost agreed on these slogans, to beat inflation – India, to eradicate unemployment – India, to extinguish the fire of hatred – India. In the Mumbai meeting, it is proposed to discuss the formation of a coordination committee of 11 members, which will decide the future role of the alliance. A common minimum program will also be formed, on which all the allies of the alliance and their leaders will talk in one stand. A media and social media cell of ‘India’ will also be formed, which will keep its point with promptness and everyone will remain on the same line.
There is talk of appointing Sonia Gandhi as the head of the alliance.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Manoj Jha told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, ‘A clear road map will be presented in the Mumbai meeting to bring a progressive alternative to the regressive policies of the current government.’ Opposition alliance ‘Indian National Development Inclusive’ The ‘Alliance (India)’ is also likely to announce a secretariat for smooth coordination among its constituents and it could be built in the national capital. There is talk of appointing former Congress President Sonia Gandhi as the head of the alliance.
RJD President Lalu Prasad and his son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav have reached Mumbai. There is also speculation that some more regional parties may also join this opposition alliance of 26 parties in the Mumbai meeting. This is the third meeting of this alliance after Patna and Bengaluru. The first meeting of the alliance was held in Patna in June, while the second meeting was held in Bengaluru in July, where it was named ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India). Mahavikas Aghadi, an alliance of Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress, have formed various committees to plan various aspects of the ‘India’ meet.
Arvind Kejriwal not in the race for PM candidacy: Raghav Chaddha
This is the first meeting of ‘India’, which is being held in a state where none of the constituents of this alliance is in power. AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will leave for Mumbai today at 2:30 pm to attend the meeting. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also go to Mumbai along with Arvind Kejriwal. MPs Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha will also take part in the meeting of INDIA. Raghav Chadha told the media before the meeting that Arvind Kejriwal is not in the race for PM candidature. There will be discussion on who will contest elections in Punjab and Delhi.
