In this match, captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian team has made one change in the playing XI. Kuldeep Yadav has got a chance in place of Mohammad Siraj in the team.

Former Indian player David Johnson passed away today
In the match against Afghanistan, the players of the Indian team have come out wearing black bands on their hands. Indian players have worn this arm band to pay tribute to Indian player David Jones. Former Indian player David Johnson committed suicide by jumping from the balcony of his apartment from the fourth floor in Bengaluru. He was battling health problems. He was discharged from the hospital a few days ago. He was a victim of depression.

BCCI posted on social media platform X and wrote that Indian players will wear black bands on the field in memory of David Johnson. Former Indian fast bowler passed away on Thursday.

David Johnson played two Test matches in his career
David Johnson made his debut for the Indian team in the year 1996. After this, he scored 8 runs and took three wickets in 2 Test matches for Team India. Apart from this, he also played 39 first class and 33 List A matches. David Johnson played one Test match against South Africa and one against Australia in his career. After that he did not get a chance in Team India.
