Dhaka: The streak of humiliating defeats for Pakistan shows no signs of ending. The Pakistan team—which delivered a dismal performance in the 2026 T20 World Cup—has now faced a crushing defeat in the ODI format. Bangladesh has thoroughly beaten Pakistan on home soil. In the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 2-1  ( 2-1 in )  . With this victory, Bangladesh has achieved the remarkable feat of defeating Pakistan in an ODI series for the second consecutive time.

Another Crushing Defeat

In fact, Pakistan had an opportunity to defeat Bangladesh after many years, but their lackluster batting exposed the entire team’s vulnerabilities. Tanzid Hasan Scores His Maiden ODI Century

The 23-year-old opener, Tanzid Hasan, scored the first century of his ODI career. He played a magnificent innings of 107 runs off 107 balls, featuring 7 sixes and 6 fours. Tanzid achieved this milestone in the 31st match of his career. He completed his century by hitting a six off the bowling of Salman Agha. However, he was later caught out off the bowling of spinner Abrar Ahmed. The pair of Tanzid and Saif Hassan provided a brilliant start for Bangladesh. The duo shared a 105-run partnership for the first wicket. Batting with composure, Saif Hassan scored 36 runs before being bowled by fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf claimed two wickets on consecutive deliveries in the 47th over. He first dismissed Litton Das for 41 runs and, on the very next ball, sent Rishad Hossain back to the pavilion for a golden duck.

Despite the fall of back-to-back wickets during the death overs, Towhid Hridoy continued to bat aggressively. He played a pivotal role in guiding the team to a strong total, scoring an unbeaten 48 runs off 44 balls. However, Pakistan’s bowling in the death overs proved highly effective, and Bangladesh could add only 13 runs in the final two overs. Consequently, the team fell just short of reaching the 300-run mark, finishing with a score of 290/5.
