New York: Once again a Hindu temple has been targeted in America. The BAPS Swaminarayan temple located in Melville area of New York (New York) has been damaged by anti-social elements. The Consulate General of India in New York has raised this matter with the US administration. The embassy has condemned this attack and termed it unacceptable. The embassy has urged to take immediate action against the criminals involved in this act.
What is the whole matter?
According to the footage surfaced on social media, objectionable words were written with spray paint on the road and symbols outside the Hindu temple in Melville. The Hindu American Foundation has said in this case that the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security should investigate this incident.
The embassy expressed strong objection
The Indian Consulate in New York has posted on X on Monday regarding this whole matter. The embassy has said that the incident of defacing the signboard near the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Melville, New York is unacceptable. The post said that the consulate is “in touch with the community and the matter has been taken up with officials of law enforcement agencies for prompt action against the perpetrators of this heinous act.”
