Army, Air Force and Navy to get a major boost in powerpower) 

New Delhi: The power ( power)  of the Army, Air Force and Navy is going to increase significantly. The government has approved a large defense procurement worth Rs 79,000 crore. The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has accorded Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for various proposals of the three services at a total cost of approximately Rs 79,000 crore.
The meeting was held on December 29, 2025, where AoN was approved for the procurement of Loiter Munition System for the Artillery Regiment of the Indian Army, Low Level Light Weight Radar, Long Range Guided Rocket Ammunition for Pinaka Multiple Launch Rocket System (MRLS), and Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System Mk-II.

What will be used for what?
Loiter munitions will be used for precision strikes on tactical targets.
Low-level lightweight radars will track small-sized, low-altitude unmanned aerial systems.
Long-range guided rockets will enhance the range and accuracy of the Pinaka MRLS, enabling it to target objectives more effectively.
The enhanced-range Integrated Drone Detection and Interdiction System Mk-II will protect the Indian Army’s critical assets in tactical battle areas and hinterlands.
What about the Indian Navy and Air Force?
Taking effective steps for the Indian Navy as well, AoN (Acceptance of Necessity) was granted for the procurement of Bollard Pull (BP) Tugs, High Frequency Software Defined Radio (HF SDR) Manpacks, and for leasing High Altitude Long Endurance (HALE) Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). The inclusion of BP tugs will assist naval ships and submarines in berthing, unberthing, and maneuvering in confined waters/harbors. The HF SDR will enhance secure long-range communication during boarding and landing operations, while the HALE RPAS will ensure continuous intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance and reliable maritime domain awareness in the Indian Ocean Region.

For the Indian Air Force, Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) has been granted for the procurement of Automatic Take-off Landing Recording Systems, Astra Mk-II missiles, full mission simulators, and SPICE-1000 long-range guidance kits, among other items.
