Accused in NIA custody on August 11(August 11)

Pune. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday arrested another suspect, Akif Atiq Nachan, in the Maharashtra ISIS module case. This is the sixth arrest in this case. All the accused of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have been sent to Pune Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) custody till August 11. (August 11) The ATS said that they found an Indian map in which several cities were marked. Examination of the laptop recovered from them revealed that the accused had studied the modus operandi of terrorist attacks.

Many objectionable materials like electronic gadgets and documents were also seized during this raid. ATS after its investigation has informed the court that all the arrested accused are associated with ISIS. The agency mentioned that preliminary investigation indicates links of the accused with the Al Sufa module. However, investigation has now revealed that all of them are part of ISIS. ATS also presented an Indian map as evidence before the court on which several cities have been placed on the target. However, the ATS did not mention the names of the cities in the open court.

NIA made many arrests
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has made several arrests in this case. On July 3, the agency arrested four people, including Tabish Nasir Siddiqui from Mumbai, Zubair Noor Mohammad Sheikh alias Abu Nusaiba from Pune, and Sharjeel Sheikh and Zulfiqar Ali Barodawala from Thane. A few days later, on 18 July, the Pune ATS arrested Mohd Imran and Mohd Yunus, who worked for the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) branch SUFA and were wanted in an NIA case. He was arrested in Kondhwa. After this, ATS arrested Simab Nasruddin Qazi on the charge of helping Shahnawaz Alam after the arrest of Khan and Saki.

Zulfiqar Ali arrested from Thane
Zulfikar Ali was arrested by the NIA in Thane in July and later taken into custody by the Pune ATS from Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. In the most recent development on Saturday, the NIA took Akif Atiq Nachan into custody. According to an official statement, he is accused of being involved in the manufacture and testing of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) for carrying out terrorist acts and arranging hideouts for two other terrorist operatives.

Taught bomb making to Zulfikar and others
As per the latest information, Zulfikar and other accused, who are currently in ATS custody, allegedly taught bomb-making to Mohd Imran Khan and Mohd Yunus Saqi. He explained how to make a bomb using explosive powder, acid and timer mechanism as part of the process. Khan and Saki reached Maharashtra during Ramzan in 2022 and have been living on rent in Pune since then. During the search of his residence, the ATS found electronic gadgets and a white powder, following which a dog squad was deployed for further investigation.
Chemical powder in seized material
The white powder seized from his residence has been sent to the forensic laboratory for detailed analysis. According to an official statement, the seized material included chemical powder, charcoal, a thermometer, a dropper, a soldering gun, a multimeter, small bulbs, batteries, an alarm clock and a spanner, which was allegedly used to steal the motorcycle. it was done.

Aadhaar card link will be checked
The court was told that these accused had bought explosives, drones and acid by showing their Aadhaar cards. ATS will now interrogate the people from whom these products were purchased.
