Delhi: Like every year, a grand event is being organized at the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day. Along with the President, Prime Minister and other ministers of the country, eminent leaders and 6000 special guests will also participate in this program. Keeping security in mind, Delhi Police     (Delhi Traffic) has closed many roads near the Red Fort. Many routes have also been changed in Noida. In such a situation, it is important that you get complete information before leaving the house and avoid trouble.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, all the roads around the Red Fort will be closed for general traffic from 4 am to 10 am on August 15. Only those vehicles will be allowed on these roads, which will have the parking label for Independence Day celebrations.

Ban on drones and paragliding
The police had on August 1 banned the flying of aerial devices such as paragliders, UAVs, hot air balloons and small size aircraft in the city. This was reiterated in the advisory which will remain in force till Thursday.

Avoid going here

Vehicles not carrying parking labels for Independence Day celebrations should avoid going on C-Hexagon, India Gate, Copernicus Marg, Mandi House, Sikandara Road, Tilak Marg, Mathura Road, BSZ Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg and JL Nehru Marg.

Vehicles without labels should avoid the route between Nizamuddin Khatta and ISBT Kashmiri Gate on Ring Road and from Nizamuddin Khatta to ISBT Kashmiri Gate via Salimgarh Bypass on Outer Ring Road.

Ban on goods vehicles
The advisory said that goods vehicles will not be allowed between Nizamuddin Khatta and Wazirabad Bridge from 12 midnight on Wednesday to 11 am on Thursday. Inter-state buses will not be allowed between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Sarai Kale Khan ISBT from 12 midnight on Wednesday to 11 am on Thursday.

Appeal to the general public
The advisory said that the general public is advised not to bring cameras, binoculars, car remote controlled keys, umbrellas, handbags, briefcases, transistors, cigarette lighters, tiffin boxes, water bottles, lunch boxes etc. The public has also been told not to touch any suspicious object and immediately inform the nearest policeman about the presence of any such object.

No entry of heavy vehicles from Noida to Delhi

Heavy vehicles will not be able to go from Noida to Delhi from 10 pm on August 14 to noon on August 15 till the end of the program. During this time, only emergency vehicles and vehicles related to essential services have been allowed to go. Apart from this, Delhi Police has advised to contact the traffic helpline number 9971009001 in case of traffic jam. At the same time, DCP Traffic Yamuna Prasad has advised people to use alternative routes to avoid any kind of inconvenience.

Traffic advisory for heavy vehicles

Vehicles entering Delhi from Chilla Red Light (border) and going to any other place can take a U-turn from Chilla Red Light and go towards their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Vehicles coming to Delhi from DND (Border) and going to any other place can take a U-turn from DND Tone Plaza and go towards their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Vehicles entering Delhi from Kalindi Kunj Yamuna (Border) and going somewhere else should take a diversion from the underpass intersection before the Yamuna river. They can go towards their destination via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Vehicles going towards Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway from Yamuna Expressway can go towards their destination via Zero Point via Pari Chowk, P-3, Kasna, Sirsa to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

Vehicles going to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway from Parichowk can go towards their destination via Parichowk to P-3, Kasna, Sirsa to Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
