MUMBAI: There is a saying that love is blind and sometimes such incidents come to the fore which make this proverb come true. Recently, a case came to light in which a 16-year-old Swedish girl met a 19-year-old boy on social media. After befriending the boy, she came to Mumbai to meet him. But something happened here that the girl was sent back by the police.
Actually, all this happened when a few days ago this Swedish girl reached Mumbai on a tourist visa. This 16-year-old girl’s contact started with a 19-year-old Mumbai resident through social media and soon after, the girl left without informing her home and went straight to Mumbai.
The girl’s parents lodged a report at the Swedish police station there on November 27 and suspected that she might have gone to India. The police there contacted India through Interpol. The Crime Branch of Mumbai got a yellow notice through Interpol on December 4 and on the basis of this investigation started and the girl was found and then the police also traced the youth.
According to the report, the youth told the police that he was keeping the girl in a camp as the boy’s family did not agree to it. After this the police took the girl in their custody and called the girl’s parents to Mumbai. The girl was handed over to her parents after completing the legal formalities.
It is being told that the girl was also questioned about the young man, she did not say anything against the young man. The girl said that she has come to meet the boy of her own free will. The police have not registered any case against the youth. At present, the girl has returned to her family’s satin Sweden.
