Kathmandu. Nepal Police on Monday said it is alert about the possible entry of absconding separatist Amritpal Singh. Amritpal’s name was put on the watch list a few days ago. “We have not received any information about Amritpal entering Nepal,” Nepal Police spokesperson Poshraj Pokharaj Pokharel said when asked about local media reports about Amritpal entering Nepal. He said that Nepal Police is on alert.
He also said that there is no truth in the reports of Indian security personnel entering the country to locate Amritpal. It is said that India has asked Nepal to be alert about the possible entry of Amritpal. Nepal Police has said that Amritpal has not yet entered Nepal. It is said about Singh that he has several passports of different identities. He is absconding since March 18 when the police started action against him. Meanwhile, CPN-UML MP Raghuji Pant has said that the open border between Nepal and India has become a safe haven for criminals. He demanded the government to control it.
