Iftar. More than 100 people fell ill after having Iftar after Ramzan prayers at a mosque in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. People have been admitted to various government hospitals in Kolkata. The condition of the people still remains critical. This incident took place in Pakhiralaya village under Kultali police station area.
A doctor treating people told that their condition is due to food poisoning. Dr. Horisadhan Mandal said, ‘Last night, some sick people came to my nursing home with vomiting and upset stomach. We think this incident happened due to food poisoning by the Iftar party, where they had food after fasting.’ On the other hand, the woman of a sick person has filed a case at Narendrapur police station.
According to reports, on the first day of the holy month of Ramzan, locals went to a nearby mosque to break their fast and people started falling sick after eating food there. The number of people falling ill started increasing, due to which there was havoc in the area. Right now sick people are being treated in hospitals.
