Africa is dividing into two parts, claims in the latest study

Continuous changes were taking place in the interior of the earth. This movement determines what changes will happen in the land and water on the surface above it. Meanwhile, according to geologists, there may be some big change in Africa. According to the study of Science Journal Geophysical Research Letters, Africa is dividing into two parts. Experts have claimed that a crack about one kilometer long has also appeared near the Nairobi-Narok highway in Kenya. Earlier in 2005, there was news of cracks appearing in Ethiopia as well. It was claimed that in a few days this crack had become about 56 kilometers long.

Scientists are also predicting the beginning of a rare natural phenomenon with Africa being divided into two pieces. Researchers believe that if Africa is divided into two pieces, then a new ocean can be formed here. After years, countries like Zambia and Uganda can also get their own coastal line.

Big impact from the change of tectonic plate
According to Science Direct, a tectonic plate is divided into two or more tectonic plates by a divergent plate boundary, then it is called rifting. On the other hand, according to National Geographic, when the tectonic plates of the Earth separate, a lowland area is formed which is called Rift Valley. These rifts can be found on both land and sea floor. According to IFLScience Research, South America and Africa split into separate continents at least 138 million years ago. When the Arabian Plate started moving away from Africa, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden were formed.

A rift seen in the Ethiopian desert in 2005 is believed to be responsible for the East African Rift, which is 56 kilometers (35 mi) long. Experts believe that due to this a new sea will be formed. The rift was found near the intersection of three tectonic plates, which had already begun to separate. These include African Nubians, African Somalis and Arabians. The East African Rift extends for about 3,000 km from Zimbabwe in the south to the Gulf of Aden in the north. Explain that the Somali and Nubian plates are two components that make up the African plate.
