When Dharmendra did not have money for bread

Mumbai. Bollywood veteran actor Dharmendra, who ruled millions of hearts by the name of ‘He-Man’, has been active in the industry for many years. Dharmendra, who is 87 years old, is still working in films. Dharmendra’s image was established as an action hero in the industry, but he also worked in many superhit romantic films and earned a lot of fame. But reaching here was not at all easy. There was a time when Dharmendra, who came to become a hero, did not even have the money to eat food.

Dharmendra told in an interview that he wanted to come to Mumbai, but the family’s condition was not good. Somehow reached Mumbai from home and then there was a struggle for life. I just wanted to become an actor because I used to enjoy watching heroes on TV. He shared an incident, when he did not have money for food and to fill his stomach he had eaten whole isabgol.

Isabgol was eaten to satisfy hunger
In the conversation, he told that when he came to Mumbai, he had to visit the offices of producers and directors everyday for work. One day I went out for work but there was not a penny in my pocket. Was very hungry. Somehow when I came back to the room, a friend’s Isabgol packet was kept nearby. He was so hungry that he could not stop, then he ate the whole packet of Isabgol without looking, after which his condition became very disturbed.

When the condition started deteriorating, he was taken from the room to the doctor. But the doctor did not give him medicine. He said that he needs to eat food, not medicine.

Started career in 1960
Dharmendra started his career in the year 1960. Then he was 25 years old. His first film was ‘Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere’. In the 70s, Dharmendra did not let his shine diminish even after the presence of strong actors like Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Sanjeev Kumar. He continued this series. Dharmendra recently shared the first look from his upcoming web series ‘Taj-Divided by Blood’. He will be seen playing the role of Sufi saint Sheikh Salim Chishti.
