Reservation in promotion for scheduled caste government employees

Jind: Scheduled caste (SC) government employees in Haryana will get reservation in promotion. For this, the government will fix the quota in 3 months. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made this announcement while addressing a state level function organized at Narwana in Jind as the chief guest on the occasion of 646th birth anniversary of Saint Ravidas. Apart from this, the Chief Minister of Haryana also announced that people from the SC community who want to set up industries will get 20% discount on buying land for industries. Apart from this, additional interest subvention of 20% will also be given to the people belonging to scheduled caste community for taking loan for doing business.

The Chief Minister also announced to name the medical college to be built in Rasulpur village of Fatehabad district after Saint Ravidas. Apart from this, he said that a chair will be established in the Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, in the name of Sant Ravidas, so that his thoughts can be propagated by studying his life. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the land has been identified for building a memorial of Saint Ravidas near Pipli. He told that a school and hostel will also be set up near the memorial.

Manohar Lal Khattar also announced to increase the exemption given from 10 percent to 20 percent on the purchase of land for setting up small scale and micro industries for scheduled caste people. The Chief Minister said that apart from banks, a ‘Capital Fund’ will be set up to provide financial assistance from the government to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship among scheduled caste youth. He announced Rs 21 lakh for the renovation of Sant Ravidas Dharamshala in Narwana. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of seven projects worth Rs 29 crore.
