Good news for Mumbai people, PM Modi will inaugurate

Mumbai Metro: PM Modi is giving a new gift to people living in Mumbai. The good news for the people of Mumbai is that PM Modi will inaugurate Mumbai Metro Rail Lines 2A and 7 on January 19. This route of Mumbai Metro has been constructed at a cost of around 12,600 crore rupees. 18.6 km long Metro Line 2A connects Dahisar E and DN Nagar (Yellow Line) and 16.5 km long Metro Line 7 connects Andheri East and Dahisar E (Red Line). The opening of this metro will provide a lot of convenience to the passengers.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of this metro rail line in October 2015. Work on two lines started 6 years ago. The then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had inaugurated a small section of the previous two lines.

According to a statement issued by the PMO, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of several development projects on January 19 at around 5 pm and after that at around 6:30 pm he will inaugurate two lines of the Mumbai Metro and also ride the metro. The Prime Minister will also launch the Mumbai 1 mobile app and the National Common Mobility Card (Mumbai 1).

Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in the Rajya Sabha last month that India will be the second largest operator of metro rail services in the world after South Korea and Japan in the near future. Puri said that the government is serious about promoting public transport and the length of metro rail in the country is proof of this. He said that currently 824 km long metro services are available in India and work is underway on 1039 km long metro line. He said that India will soon leave behind South Korea and then Japan in terms of metro expansion and will become the third largest country in the world in terms of metro operation. Along with this, Puri said that India will become the second largest metro operating country in the world in the near future.
