New Delhi. The new Parliament building will be ready by the end of January. Its interior decoration work is being completed very fast. According to information received from government sources, a decision is yet to be taken whether the upcoming budget session of Parliament will be held in the new building or in the old building itself.
It is worth mentioning that the new Parliament building, the center of power of the country, is part of the Central Vista redevelopment project. Under the Central Vista redevelopment project, the three-kilometer stretch of Rajpath from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate, new residences and offices for the Prime Minister, the Vice President and the Central Secretariat are to be constructed. The responsibility of construction has been given to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

A government source said, “The new Parliament building will be ready by the end of this month and the interior decoration work is being done very fast.” The construction work of the new Parliament building started two years ago. Another source said on Monday that the government will soon take a decision on inaugurating the new building.
Waiting for the date of inauguration of the new parliament
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri had said in November last year that it was up to the government to decide the date for the inauguration of the new Parliament building.
