Punjab’s kabaddi coach shot dead in Philippines

Manila: A kabaddi coach from Moga in Punjab has been shot dead in Manila, the capital of the Philippines. A pall of gloom descended on Pakharwad village in Nihal Singh Wala sub-division of Moga district on Tuesday after the news of 43-year-old Gurpreet Singh Gindru being shot dead in Manila reached his family.
Gurpreet Singh had gone to the Philippines four years ago to earn his livelihood. Apart from business, he also used to train youth in Kabaddi in Manila. When he returned home from work on Tuesday, he was shot dead. The villagers informed about this.

The relatives and villagers demanded that the government bring his body home for the last rites. Gurpreet was shot in the head by unknown assailants after entering the house. Villagers said Gurpreet had moved to Canada a few years back, while his wife and son were living in the Philippines. For a few years, he had also shifted to the Philippines. His parents and brothers are back home in Moga village
Let us tell you that till now the attackers have not been identified, nor has the reason been found out why Kabaddi coach Gurpreet was shot dead. At present, no statement has come from the government on the demand of the villagers.
