New Delhi. Black Day or Bravery Day? This will be decided by the intellectuals and historians who will write the history of December 6, 1992 in future. For the time being, we will talk about the available media reports and the reports of the commission constituted for investigation that when, how, what happened in the morning, afternoon and evening of 6th December? In Ayodhya, 30 years ago on this date of December, the disputed structure was demolished by a frenzied mob. According to the report of the Liberhan Commission, a day earlier i.e. on the morning of December 5, 1992, an exercise was also done to demolish the disputed structure. Then on 6 December the disputed structure was demolished. After this, in 2019, the Supreme Court with its decision ended all the controversies forever.
After the decision of the Supreme Court, the construction of Ram Mandir was also started in place of the disputed structure and at present it is going on very fast. However, even after this, some organizations and leaders keep raising this issue from time to time. Last year, the Muslim community decided that Black Day would not be celebrated in Ayodhya. The Muslims of Ayodhya had said that they want to create an atmosphere of brotherhood with the Hindu community. Therefore, no such program will be celebrated. But, this time the Babri Masjid Action Committee is again seen in action. He has announced a public meeting. In such a situation, the administration has become ready to deal with any untoward incident. Meanwhile, let us know what happened on the morning of 6 December 1992?
Several revelations from the report of the Liberhan Commission
Preparations were already being made to demolish the disputed structure. This is also confirmed by the report of the Liberhan Commission constituted in 2009. According to the report, on the morning of 5 December 1992, practice was done for this. Some pictures related to the exercise were presented before the commission. After the commotion a day earlier, on the morning of 6 December 1992, slogans like ‘Jai Shri Ram’, ‘Ramlala hum aayenge, mandir wahi banayenge’, ‘Ek dhakka aur do…’ were echoing everywhere. Many leaders, sages and saints were sitting on the stage built at a distance of about 200 meters from the disputed structure. LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Uma Bharti, Kalraj Mishra, Ramchandra Paramhans and Ashok Singhal were present on this stage.
Suddenly the atmosphere changed in the afternoon
In the presence of District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of Faizabad, the worship was going on at 9 am. People were doing bhajan-kirtan. Around 12 noon, both of them also visited the Babri Masjid Ram Janmabhoomi complex. However, both of them failed to realize that something like this is going to happen there soon, which will be remembered for many decades. Shortly after his visit, the atmosphere there changed completely. Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal told Mike that some chaotic elements have entered our meeting. It is said that the preparation of the VHP was only for cleanliness and worship in the temple premises, but the kar sevaks did not agree with this.
Sangh workers were snatched by the mob!
Suddenly a crowd of kar sevaks entered the disputed site raising slogans. After this, uproar and disturbance started everywhere. The crowd climbed atop the disputed structure. In no time, many people had climbed around the domes. They had spade, chisel-hammer in their hands, with which they started demolishing the structure. During this, the crowd was moving towards the disputed structure with spade and shovel. Many efforts were made to stop them. It is said that during this time there was a scuffle with the workers of the Sangh, but they could not stop them. Within no time, the disputed structure was demolished.
The then CM of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh resigned from the post the same evening.
Kalyan Singh wrote one line resignation
The first dome of the structure collapsed around 2 pm. According to media reports, some people were also buried under the first dome. By 5 pm, the crowd brought down all the domes. During this, when the paramilitary forces tried to stop the kar sevaks, the crowd started pelting stones at them. After this, Kalyan Singh resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh by the evening, taking moral responsibility for the demolition of the disputed structure. He wrote his resignation in just one line. It was written in it, ‘I am resigning from the post of Chief Minister, please accept.’ After this, the ‘darkness of violence’ spread across the country, which will be remembered for decades.
