New Delhi: There was a stir among the passengers on board a flight going from Delhi to Bangalore when the engine of IndiGo aircraft started sparking during take off. The engine of an IndiGo aircraft caught fire while taking off from Delhi airport for Bengaluru on Friday. For this reason a state of emergency was declared at Delhi Airport and an emergency landing was made. However, now the government has taken action on this incident.
An inquiry has been ordered into how the fire finally broke out during take-off of an Indigo flight at Delhi airport. The Civil Aviation Ministry has directed DGCA officials to initiate a probe into the fire incident on IndiGo flight number A320. It was told that a spark was seen during take-off in IndiGo’s A320 aircraft going to Bangalore. After this, the pilot immediately made an emergency landing and later the plane returned to the parking lot and 180 people on board were taken off safely.
A video of the incident is viral on social media, in which sparks are seen flying from an engine of an aircraft preparing to take off at the airport. This incident happened around 10 pm on Friday night. IndiGo said in a statement that aircraft 6E2131 flying from Delhi to Bangalore experienced an engine spark prior to take off. And after that the flight was stopped. There were 177 passengers and seven crew members on board the plane.
