Dhanbad. Harshit Kumar Yadav, the 14-year-old son of a railway contractor Vindhyachal Yadav, a resident of Mahuda Railway Colony in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, was strangled to death after being kidnapped. Harshit’s body was found buried under a stone in the OB dump of Jamunia Colliery in Baghmara. Police arrested two accused involved in this murder. Both the arrested accused are minors. The matter of killing of Harshit in IPL betting has come to the fore.
Harshit DAV Mahuda, 14, was a student of class 8th. He left the house on September 21 at 8.45 am. According to Harshit’s father Vindhyachal Yadav, his companions Balwant Prasad and Nitish Prasad had left him with their bikes. After leaving the house, he did not return.
The family members lodged a complaint of kidnapping of Harshit in Mahuda police station. After receiving the complaint, the police claimed to crack the case in just 6 hours. After receiving the complaint, the police started investigation. In the research, Nitish got the hands of the police. He gave information about Harshit’s dead body during interrogation. After which the police recovered Harshit’s body from among the stones at Jamuniya Colliery in Baghmara.
Seeing the dead body, it seemed that he was strangled to death with a pot. According to father Vindhyachal Yadav, Harshit has been murdered in IPL betting. Harshit had taken 40 thousand rupees from Balwant. Balwant was pressurizing Harshit to return the money. According to the father, Harshit was killed for money only.
Balwant Mahuda used to study in DAV itself. He was expelled from the school because of his conduct. Presently he studies in class 10 in a private school in Sinidih. Balwant is a resident of Manjla Tola of Baghmara, while Nitish is a resident of Sonardih.
