Manipur: There has been a heavy landslide in Noni district of Manipur. The news of the death of 6 people is coming out in this accident. This figure may increase further. Officials say that more than 60 people have gone missing in this accident and the search operation is still going on. Indian Army personnel are engaged in the rescue operation. The injured are being treated at the Army Medical Unit located in Noni district. 13 people have been rescued in this rescue operation.

Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh regarding this accident. He tweeted- “Talks have been held with CM Shri N Biren Singh and Shri Ashwini Vaishnav in view of landslide near Tupul Railway Station in Manipur. Rescue work is in full swing. A team of NDRF has reached the spot and engaged in the rescue work. Gone. 2 more teams are on their way to Tupul”
Debris filled in the Ijei River
Giving information about the rescue of the people, a police officer said that due to the landslide, debris has fallen in the Ijei river flowing through Tamenglong and Noni districts. Due to this, a dam-like situation has arisen there. If it breaks, the low-lying areas will suffer heavy damage. For this reason, now a new advisory has been issued. In which people have been asked to vacate the low-lying areas. Apart from this, it has been advised to avoid B from NH 37 in this advisory.
Let us tell you that the teams are constantly engaged in the rescue operation, but due to bad weather they are facing many problems. Security personnel say that due to landslides and bad weather on the one hand, rescue operations are facing problems.
Manipur CM N Biren has called an immediate meeting after the landslide. He tweeted- An urgent meeting has been called in view of the situation of the landslide.
