New Delhi: Now there will be a survey to find out non-vegetarian eateries around any religious places in the capital of the country. The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will conduct a survey to find out eateries serving non-vegetarian food near religious places in the areas under it. It is believed that the eateries that feed non-veg near the temples will be removed from there. The officials gave this information.
The issue was discussed in the council meeting of NDMC. Its President and Vice President Venkateshwara Swami-Tirupati Balaji had gone to the temple and found that many shopkeepers near the temple were selling and serving non-vegetarian food. The council has decided to conduct a survey in this regard so that a plan can be made to relocate these shops.
NDMC vice-chairman Satish Upadhyay said, “I went to Sri Venkateswara Swamy-Tirupati Balaji temple along with the president-NDMC and found that many shopkeepers are selling and serving non-vegetarian food along the wall adjoining the temple which is not good.” “Such issues will not be tolerated and I warn the heads of departments to take immediate action on this,” he said.
Upadhyay said that all the areas under NDMC should be surveyed and it should be seen whether there are meat shops near religious places and they should be shifted to other places. Another top council official said, “The officials have been directed to conduct a survey”. Last month, the then South and East Delhi Municipal Corporations ordered the closure of meat shops during Navratri.
