Priest molested 12 year old girl

Puri: A priest has been arrested for molesting a 12-year-old girl at the famous Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri city of Odisha. Police said that the priest has been arrested following a complaint by the girl who came from Hyderabad and her family.

It is said that the girl was praying in a small temple situated in this 12 century temple complex. She was alone in the Bamana temple while her parents were in the main temple. There are 136 small temples in the complex.

In the complaint lodged by the parents of the girl at Singhdwar police station, it has been said that she ran away from the Bamana temple crying and narrated her ordeal to the mother. Based on the complaint, Pujari was taken into custody on Friday and then arrested. The police have also informed the Chief Welfare Committee about the incident. SP KV Singh said that the statement of the girl has been recorded before the magistrate and legal action is being taken against the accused.
