Another Amarnath among the hills of Manali

Manali: Due to the beauty of Himachal Pradesh and the snow-capped hills, it is also called Devbhoomi. Devbhoomi means where the gods reside. Seeing the naturally formed Shivling near Manali, it seems really true. The recognition of this Shivling is enough and thousands of tourists reach here.

  1. Shivling of 20 to 30 feet under the open sky

This Shivling is formed after heavy snowfall in Anjani Mahadev Temple. Its height ranges from 20 to 30 feet. It is also called Mata Anjani’s Taposthali. Thousands of devotees reach here for darshan. It is said that every wish is fulfilled when asked here.

  1. Maa Anjani is associated with recognition
    It is said that Mata Anjani used to worship and do penance for the Shivling built at this place. Devotees from far and wide come in large numbers to see this huge form of Baba; every year from December to March, a natural Shivling is formed. With the onset of winter in the open sky, this natural Shivling starts taking form in this place in December.
  2. Height is up to 30 feet in January
    The region receives heavy snowfall in December and January. In January, the height of Shivling becomes about 20 to 30 feet. Thousands of tourists and devotees come here for darshan. These days, along with Baba’s darshan, tourists also enjoy activities related to snow.
  3. Mother did penance for the son

It is believed that in Treta Yuga, Mata Anjani did severe penance to get a son and get salvation. Pleased with the penance of Mother Anjani, Lord Shiva had appeared. It is said that since then, naturally snow Shivling has started forming here.

  1. Natural Shivling in Solang Nala
    This Shivling is formed in Solang Nala, 25 km from Manali. Anjani Mahadev is about 4 km above Solang Nala. The belief of Shivling is so much that devotees reach here after crossing a difficult climb.
