New Delhi. Government oil companies did not make any change in petrol and diesel prices on Thursday as well. The oil rates released today have remained stable for more than three months. Despite no increase in prices, petrol rates are still more than Rs 100 in many cities of the country.

The highest price of petrol is around Rs 110 in Mumbai, while Rs 108.20 per liter is being sold in Hyderabad. Actually, the Modi government had reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 10 per liter on 4 November 2021 after the price of petrol went above Rs 100 in many parts of the country. The companies have also not made any change in the prices from November 4. The government has subjected oil prices to the market with effect from June 15, 2017, due to which their prices are now fixed daily.

Petrol and diesel prices change every day at 6 am. The new rates are applicable from 6 am in the morning. After adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles.
