President Prabowo praises PM Modi( Prabowo ) 

Jakarta: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s three-day visit to Indonesia has marked a new golden chapter in the history of the two nations. Upon his arrival in Jakarta, PM Modi received a grand ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace, followed by bilateral and delegation-level talks with Indonesian President Prabowo ( Prabowo )  Subianto. During this visit, several historic agreements were signed regarding defense, education, technology, and infrastructure—agreements poised to reshape global politics and strategic equations.

Major agreement in the defense sector
India and Indonesia have entered into a significant agreement in the defense sector. Under this pact, India will supply the domestically produced ‘Astra’ air-to-air missile to Indonesia. The agreement also includes the supply of the supersonic ‘BrahMos’ missile. Furthermore, India will invest in Indonesia’s steel, nickel, and rare-earth magnet sectors.

India to develop EVMs for Indonesia
IIM Bangalore will open a branch in Indonesia, and India will also develop EVMs specifically for conducting elections there. During PM Modi’s visit, the two nations also agreed on the co-development of Sabang Port, located near the Strait of Malacca. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto hosted a state banquet for Prime Minister Modi, during which he spoke highly of him.

President Prabowo admires PM Modi’s working style
President Prabowo remarked that Indian culture has had a profound impact on Indonesia. He noted that 30 to 40 percent of words in the Indonesian language are of Indian origin, and many Indonesians bear Indian names. Indonesia’s national emblem, the Garuda, is derived from Indian mythology. President Prabowo stated that he is a great admirer of Prime Minister Modi and his working style, noting that he has replicated and implemented several of Modi’s schemes in his own country.

**Indonesia’s Highest Civilian Award for PM Modi**
Today, Indonesia conferred its highest civilian award, the Bintang Adipurna, upon Prime Minister Modi. The Prime Minister also addressed the Indonesian Parliament in Jakarta, highlighting the historic ties between India and Indonesia. Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Indonesian Parliament. Approximately 300,000 people of Indian origin reside in Indonesia; additionally, around 9,000 Indian citizens work in the country’s industries.
