Biarritz: A surprising video has emerged from the G-7 ( G-7) summit taking place in the French city of Biarritz. US President Donald Trump is seen ignoring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Trump is greeting and shaking hands warmly with leaders from all the other nations present, but as soon as he reaches Zelenskyy, he turns away without shaking his hand. No conversation took place between the two either.
Previous Clash at the White House
This frosty attitude between the two leaders is nothing new. Relations between Trump and Zelenskyy have been quite strained for some time. Earlier this year, a heated argument and confrontation took place between them during a meeting at the White House, the official residence of the US President. It is believed that the lingering bitterness from that incident is now visible on this international stage.
PM Modi and Trump Meet After 16 Months
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump met during the G-7 summit in Biarritz, France. The two spoke for about five minutes and were seen sitting together during the meeting. This meeting took place after a gap of 16 months. The Prime Minister and the US President were also seen sitting together during the G-7 outreach session. Their previous meeting had taken place at the White House in February 2025. Additionally, PM Modi also held talks with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni.
What is the G-7 Summit?
The G-7 summit is being held in the French city of Biarritz from June 15 to 17. Leaders from member nations—Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US—are participating in the summit. Representatives from the European Union are also taking part. Apart from the G7 nations, France has also invited leaders from several other countries to the summit. This marks India’s 13th appearance at the summit as a partner country.
