Rain Alert  (Rain ) 

Delhi: Severe heat is gripping various parts of the country, including North India. In the national capital, Delhi, temperatures are soaring past the 45-degree mark. A temperature of 48 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. Intense heatwaves are prevailing across Delhi-NCR and several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Amidst this, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for several parts of the country, warning of rainfall    (Rain )      accompanied by winds gusting up to 50 km/h.

Rain Forecast for Several States
The IMD has forecast rain for several states, including Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The Meteorological Department stated that West Bengal is likely to experience rainfall accompanied by strong winds from Thursday through Saturday (May 21–23).

4 Days of Rain Expected in Jharkhand
A possibility of rainfall has been indicated for several districts of Bihar between May 20 and May 26. In Jharkhand, rain is forecast between May 21 and May 26. Additionally, Odisha is likely to experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds between May 22 and May 24.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in the Hill States
Rainfall has also been forecast for North-Western India. According to the Meteorological Department, the hill states will witness rain accompanied by strong winds. Between May 21 and May 23, certain locations in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (gusting at speeds of 40–50 km/h).

Rain Forecast for Tamil Nadu and Kerala as Well
An alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for several states in South India. The IMD has forecast rain for Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Mahe, and Karaikal between May 21 and May 24. Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and strong winds (speed of 40-50 km/h), is likely in Telangana.
