Israel: Amidst the ongoing ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli army has carried out heavy shelling. At least 21 people ( , 21 Dead) were killed by Israeli shelling by Wednesday afternoon. Most of the dead were women and children. Meanwhile, Israel has said that the attacks will continue. The army said it was a response to a terrorist attack on Israeli soldiers. One Israeli soldier was seriously injured in the terrorist attack.
Continuous Attacks from Israel
A hospital in Gaza reported that among the Palestinians killed were 5 children, including a 5-month-old baby and a baby just 10 days old. The dead also included 7 women and a paramedic. Since the ceasefire with Hamas on October 10, 2025, the Israeli army has launched several attacks. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 530 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire.
Questions Arise Over Ceasefire
The continuous deaths in Gaza have raised questions about the US-backed ceasefire. Palestinians living in Gaza are now saying that it doesn’t seem like the war is over. Dr. Mohammed Abu Selmiya, director of Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, said in a Facebook post, “The war of genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip continues. Where is the ceasefire? Where are the mediators?”
What did the Israeli official say?
Meanwhile, an Israeli military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Associated Press that Israel would continue its attacks on Gaza. Since the ceasefire came into effect, the Israeli military has defended its deadly attacks by saying it is responding to Hamas violations or terrorist attacks on its soldiers. The military says four soldiers have been killed since the ceasefire began.
