Jhenaidah: A horrific incident of brutality ( Brutality ) against a Hindu widow has come to light from Bangladesh. A widowed Hindu woman was gang-raped in Kaliganj, Jhenaidah district. This cruel torture involved not only gang rape but also other atrocities. The 40-year-old woman was tied to a tree and her hair was cut off. The accused also filmed this horrific torture and made the video go viral on social media.
Land purchased from Shahin for 20 lakh taka
According to a report by Sangbad Pratidin, the victim stated that two and a half years ago, she had bought a two-story house along with land from Shahin and his brother for 20 lakh taka. Since then, she has been the target of the main accused, Shahin. Shahin had previously made several inappropriate advances towards her, which she had rejected.
50,000 taka demanded after the gang rape
The victim said that after this, Shahin started harassing her. The widow told the police that last Saturday evening, Shahin and his accomplice Hasan suddenly entered her house. They both raped her. The two accused also demanded 50,000 taka from her that same day.
Woman raped after intruders entered her house
On Saturday evening, two relatives of the woman came to her house from her village. It is alleged that during this time, Shahin and his accomplice Hasan entered the house and raped the woman. They demanded an additional 50,000 taka (approximately 37,000 Indian rupees). When the woman refused to give the money, the relatives who had come to visit were beaten and chased away. The accused then tied the woman to a tree, cut off her hair, and made a video of it, which they then circulated on social media.
Victim faints
Regarding this incident, the police said that the Hindu widow was tied to a tree and tortured. After this, she fainted. Local people rescued her in an injured condition and admitted her to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital. Zhenaidah police said that after the woman regained consciousness, she was called to the police station and her statement was recorded.
