Bilaspur: A local train and a freight train collided head-on in Bilaspur, (Bilaspu ) Chhattisgarh. Nine people have reportedly died and 13 have been injured. The passenger train was traveling from Korba to Bilaspur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai expressed grief over the accident.

Casualty Number Expected to Rise
According to information, a freight train and a passenger train collided head-on near Lalkhadan in Bilaspur. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. Rescue teams arrived at the scene and began rescue and relief operations. Passengers trapped in the damaged coach are being rescued using a gas cutter.
Upon receiving information about the accident, South East Central Railway General Manager Tarun Prakash and Bilaspur Divisional Railway Manager Rajmal Khoiwal also reached the site and inspected the rescue work.
Railways announces relief amount
Meanwhile, the Railways has announced a relief amount of Rs. 10 lakh will be given to the families of those killed in the accident, while Rs. 1 lakh will be given to the injured.
