Delhi University student attacked with acid   (acid ) 

New Delhi: A second-year Delhi University student has been attacked with acid.   (acid )     The victim had gone to an extra class at Laxmibai College in Northwest Delhi. The incident occurred some distance from the college. Multiple police teams are investigating.

The victim suffered injuries to her hand and is currently undergoing treatment at RML Hospital. It is expected that she will be discharged shortly.

The boy who attacked the victim is known to her. The boy has been identified, and police are conducting raids to arrest him. The accused boy and the victim are known to each other and live in Mukundpur.

What did the police say?
Police reported that they received information from the hospital that a 20-year-old woman had been admitted with acid burns. Upon questioning, the victim stated that she was a second-year (non-college) student and had gone to an extra class at Laxmi Bai College, Ashok Vihar. While she was on her way to college, Jitendra, an acquaintance and resident of Mukundpur, arrived on a motorcycle with his friends, Ishaan and Armaan. Ishaan allegedly gave a bottle to Armaan, who threw acid on her. The victim tried to shield her face, but both of her hands were injured. The accused fled the scene. The victim further stated that Jitendra had been stalking her and that they had a heated argument about a month ago.

Police stated that the crime scene and the FSL team inspected the scene. Based on his statement and the nature of injuries, a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and investigation is underway.
