Paramilitary forces targeted (Paramilitary) 

Imphal: Paramilitary   (Paramilitary)  forces have once again been targeted in Manipur. A group of armed men attacked an Assam Rifles vehicle in Bishnupur district on Friday evening. Two Assam Rifles soldiers were killed and five others injured. A JCO was among the deceased.

Attack in Nambol Sabal Leikai
Officials said the incident occurred around 6 p.m. in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area of ​​the district. An official said, “A group of gunmen ambushed the vehicle carrying Assam Rifles personnel from Imphal to Bishnupur district. Two soldiers were killed and two others injured in the attack.” Another official said the injured soldiers were rushed to a hospital by police and locals, where they are receiving treatment.

Terrorists fled in a white van
A senior security official said the site of the attack was a busy road with heavy traffic. After attacking the Assam Rifles personnel’s vehicle, the terrorists fled in a white van. The personnel exercised restraint in their retaliatory action to avoid civilian casualties. Security forces have launched a search operation to apprehend the terrorists: a senior security official.

A Guwahati-based Defense Public Relations Officer stated that on September 19, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., a contingent of 33 Assam Rifles personnel was moving from its Patsoi Company Operating Base to Nambol Company Operating Base. The contingent was ambushed by unidentified terrorists on the highway in Nambol Sabal Leikai, a non-notified area in Manipur. Two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred and five were injured. They have been admitted to RIMS and are in stable condition. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. A search operation is underway to apprehend the terrorists involved in the incident.
