Mumbai (Anil Bedag): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated 11 solar power projects developed by Avaada Group in Yavatmal district. On this occasion, he announced that by 2026, every farmer in the district will be provided free electricity for 12 hours a day.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana’ with the aim of providing uninterrupted electricity to farmers. So far, projects of 35 MW capacity have been completed under this scheme in Yavatmal, due to which about 14,000 farmers have started getting electricity during the day. In the coming time, this facility will be extended to all the farmers of the district.
Vineet Mittal, Chairman, Avaada Group said, “We are proud to be a part of this historic initiative with the Government of Maharashtra. Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0 proves that clean energy can not only meet the needs of farmers but can also accelerate rural development and India’s green energy campaign.” These new projects will benefit around 14,893 farmers from 167 villages.
