Washington: On one hand, America has started a tariff war against India, on the other hand, American President Donald Trump and people associated with his administration are also making continuous statements. America says that India is buying crude oil from Russia, due to which Russia is getting help in the Ukraine war. The same argument is being given behind imposing heavy tariffs. Now how much strength is there in this argument can be understood from the fact that China buys the most oil from Russia but America has given it full concession. India has clarified its stand on this matter and said that the economic interests of 140 crore people of the country will not be compromised and oil purchases from Russia will continue. Meanwhile, White House advisor Peter Navarro      ( Peter Navarro)     has given a big statement.

What did Peter Navarro say?

Peter Navarro has called the Ukraine war Modi’s war. He has alleged that India’s purchase of discounted Russian oil has encouraged Russia’s aggression and put a heavy burden on American taxpayers. He said that if India stops buying Russian oil, it can get a 25 percent reduction in American tariffs. BluePeter Navarro said that the path to peace “to some extent passes through New Delhi.”

Navarro is surprised because of this

Navarro also said, “I am surprised because Modi is a great leader, this is a mature democracy and it is being run by mature people. What bothers me is that Indians are very arrogant about this, they say, hey, we don’t have much tariffs, hey, this is our sovereignty. We can buy oil from whoever we want.” He said, “By buying Russian oil at a discount, Russia uses the money it gets to run its war machines and kill more Ukrainians. Everyone in America is suffering losses because of what India is doing.”

Navarro had given absurd statements in the past too

Let us tell you that recently Navarro had accused India of refinery profiteering and called it a ‘laundromat’ (self-service laundry) for Russian oil. He had said, ”India uses the money it gets by selling goods to us, and then spends this money to buy Russian oil, then the refiners make profits there. Russia uses this money to make more weapons and kill Ukrainians. This is madness.”
