Trump is now seen getting surrounded in America itself regarding the tariff imposed on India. American MP Gregory Meeks has advised Trump regarding the tariff imposed on India. Meeks has also instructed Trump on relations with India. American MP Gregory    (Nikki Haley )  Meeks has said that this tariff dictatorship of Trump can harm the US-India strategic partnership that has been prepared for years. Meeks is the Democratic ranking member of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee.

Gregory Meeks said that there are deep strategic, economic and social relations between America and India. In such a situation, any dispute or concern should be resolved with mutual respect under democratic values. He warned that Trump’s tough policy can spoil the relations which have been built with years of hard work.

Meanwhile, it should also be told here that, on one hand Donald Trump is in the mode of ‘tariff war’, while American officials are saying something else. An official of the US State Department has described India as a strategic partner. The official said that America communicates with India with “complete clarity and honesty”.

Gregory Meeks is not alone. Earlier, Indian-origin leader of the Republican Party Nikki Haley had also said that America should not spoil its relations with a strong partner like India and should not give concessions to China. She said this amid the attacks on New Delhi by US President Donald Trump regarding tariffs and purchase of Russian oil.

Meanwhile, the thing to be seen is that India has got support from China on this whole issue. China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun has described US President Donald Trump’s move as an abuse of trade rules. He said that China has always opposed the abuse of tariffs and its stand on this is clear and consistent.
