No doubt on the patriotism of Muslims of Lakshadweep: Rajnath Singh

Kavaratti: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that no person in the world can dare to doubt or question the patriotism of the Muslim population or other residents of Lakshadweep as they have created trouble or against the country. The efforts of provoking anti-India forces have been thwarted.

During his address on the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Singh said, “No one on earth can dare to doubt the patriotism of the Muslim population in Lakshadweep. No one can question the patriotism of the people of Lakshadweep.

He was addressing people after unveiling a statue of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi here. During the program, Singh also mentioned the issue of climate change and the threat posed to the existence of Lakshadweep due to rising sea level due to ‘global warming’.

He said that as part of the government’s positive approach towards cutting carbon emissions, it has been decided to ban the manufacture, sale and use of single-use plastics and allied products from July 1 next year.

The Defense Minister said that the cleanliness of the ocean should also be included in the cleanliness on the land. Marine ecology has to be kept clean. On the issue of attempts by the anti-India forces to create a crisis on the island, Singh said that due to the strategic location and importance of the island, such efforts have been made in the past and still, but these efforts failed due to the islanders. .

He said that attempts have been made to promote extremism, extremism and terrorism in Lakshadweep, but all these attempts have failed and for this he congratulates the people of the Union Territory.

He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government has taken a tough stand against terrorism, but as far as radicalization is concerned, the government has not taken such a tough stand and instead tried to bring back the people who went on the path of fundamentalism in the mainstream. He chose to convince them.

The Union minister said, “Some vested interests are calling the present central government anti-minority, which is wrong and a false allegation.” There is no hatred on the basis of caste, creed or religion. Referring to the Centre’s plans for the island, he said that Lakshadweep would be made the next Maldives.
