Shanghai. A Japan Airlines flight from Shanghai, China to Tokyo, Japan narrowly escaped a major accident on Monday. During the flight, the Boeing 737 aircraft suddenly lost balance and fell 26,000 feet in just 10 minutes. In this terrifying moment, the 191 passengers on board the plane almost stopped breathing.
According to the South China Morning Post, the plane was flying at an altitude of 36,000 feet when suddenly it developed a technical problem and started falling rapidly. At an altitude of 10,500 feet, the pilot showed presence of mind and somehow regained control of the plane and made an emergency landing at Kansai Airport in Osaka.
There was chaos in the plane during the incident. The crew members instructed the passengers to wear oxygen masks, but in panic many passengers removed the masks. Sharing this scary experience on social media, the passengers wrote that the body is here, but the mind is still stuck there. It felt as if life would end now.
All passengers are safe, investigation has started
There were no casualties in the accident. All passengers were safely landed at the airport. They were given accommodation for one night and compensation of 15,000 yen (about 104 dollars). The causes of the plane crash are being investigated.
Questions raised on Boeing 737
It is worth noting that even before this, Boeing 737 has been a victim of major accidents twice. Last year, a plane of this model crashed during landing in Muan, South Korea, in which 179 passengers were on board. At the same time, in 2022, a Boeing 737 plane carrying 132 passengers crashed in China.
