Bengaluru: Political uproar has been going on since the stampede in Bengaluru last Wednesday. BJP and other opposition parties are constantly raising questions on the Siddaramaiah government. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has suspended many police officers. Now another major action has been taken on Friday. According to the notification issued by the Karnataka government, K. Govindara (Govind Ra) j has been relieved from the post of political secretary of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with immediate effect. However, it has not been clarified yet whether this action has been taken in the case of Bengaluru stampede or in any other case.
Why action was taken against Govinda Raj?
Govindraraj was CM Siddaramaiah’s political advisor for a long time. It is believed that Govind Raj was in the role of organizing the celebration of RCB’s victory and coordinating between various departments. It is believed that on his advice, CM Siddaramaiah attended this event of RCB.
RCB and other company officials arrested
A stampede broke out outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday during the celebrations organized after RCB’s victory in IPL 2025. 11 people died in this stampede and a large number of people were injured. Police had registered a case against RCB franchise, DNA Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Karnataka State Cricket Association in this case. Now the police have arrested four officials of RCB and DNA, the company managing the event, in this case.
Many police officers including the commissioner suspended
Earlier on Thursday evening, CM Siddaramaiah had announced that the police inspector, station house master, station house officer, ACP, Central Division DCP, Cricket Stadium Incharge, Additional Police Commissioner, Police Commissioner of Cubbon Park Police Station have been suspended with immediate effect on charges of prima facie negligence and irresponsibility in the Bengaluru stampede case. At the same time, on Friday, the Karnataka government has also transferred ADGP Intelligence Hemant Nimbalkar and ADGP L&O H Hitendra.
3 FIRs registered so far
So far three FIRs have been registered against RCB, DNA Event Management Company and KSCA regarding the stampede in Bengaluru on Wednesday. The latest FIR has been lodged by a 21-year-old youth named Venu. Venu was injured in the stampede in Bengaluru.
Name of the new commissioner of Bengaluru announced
After the suspension of Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayanand, senior IPS Seemant Kumar Singh has been appointed as the new police commissioner of Bengaluru. This information has been given in a notification issued by the government. B Dayanand has been suspended on charges of negligence in work.
