India-China and Russia meeting today

New Delhi: There will be a meeting between the foreign ministers of RIC group country i.e. Russia, India and China today. This meeting will be conducted through digital medium. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will preside over this meeting between the three countries. This information was given by the Ministry of External Affairs. In this meeting, along with strengthening trilateral cooperation, regional and global issues will be reviewed mainly.

This will be the 18th round of talks between the foreign ministers to be held under the RIC group. Earlier in September last year, a RIC meeting was held in Masko. Where the responsibility of presiding over the next meeting was entrusted to India. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that the foreign ministers are also expected to strengthen the trilateral cooperation of this RIC by exchanging views on important regional and international issues.

The ministry said that at a time when the world is entering a period of rapid turbulence and change, the annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the three countries will engage with India and Russia to strengthen dialogue, enhance mutual trust and build consensus. expects.

The RIC meeting is being held at a time when tensions have been prevailing in the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China for the past several months. Trilateral cooperation has been greatly affected due to the standoff between India and China in the Ladakh sector. After this meeting, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will hand over the chairmanship of RIC to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Ko for the next one year.
