On Saturday, Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami met with a 10-member delegation from Nepal’s Far-Western Province, led by its Chief Minister Shri Kamal Bahadur Shah, at the Chief Minister’s residence. During the meeting, both leaders emphasized strengthening the friendly relations between India and Nepal and enhancing cooperation in the bordering regions.
They discussed expediting development works through mutual coordination in border districts, promoting cultural and religious ties, boosting tourism, and improving disaster management efforts.
Chief Minister Dhami stated that Uttarakhand and Nepal share a common social and cultural heritage, with historical ties spanning centuries. He assured full support from the Uttarakhand government in enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, healthcare, education, and infrastructure development in the border regions.
Also present from Nepal’s Far-Western Province were Minister Shri Veer Bahadur Thapa, members Shri Ghanshyam Chaudhary, Shri Naresh Kumar Shahi, Shri Jhapat Bahadur Saud, Shri Sher Bahadur Bhandari, Chief Secretary Dr. Kamal Prasad Pokharel Sharma, Secretary Shri Surat Kumar Bam, and Political Advisor Dr. Jitendra Upadhyay. Representing the Uttarakhand government were Chief Secretary Shri R.K. Sudhanshu and Secretary Shri Vinod Kumar Suman.
