New Delhi: Delhi High Court gives custody parole to AIMIM leader Tahir Hussain to file his nomination. Delhi riot accused Tahir Hussain (Tahir Hussain) has been given ticket by AIMIM from Mustafabad assembly seat. Delhi High Court said that Tahir Hussain will not talk to anyone except the officials related to the nomination process.
High Court imposed these conditions
In the order issued by Delhi High Court, it has been said that Tahir Hussain will not use the phone during parole. Along with this, he will not use mobile or landline phone and internet. Delhi High Court said that Tahir Hussain will not address the media. High Court said that Tahir Hussain’s family members can be present at the time of nomination.
The court said that Tahir Hussain’s family members will not be allowed to click pictures of filing nomination or post them on social media. The High Court refused to grant interim bail to Tahir Hussain for election campaign.
Tahir Hussain had sought interim bail
A day earlier, Tahir Hussain’s lawyer had argued that the former councilor should be released on interim bail as he needs to personally file nomination papers and give correct account of his assets. The lawyer had told the court that Tahir Hussain should be released on interim bail from January 16 to February 9 for election campaign.
The lawyer had cited the interim bail granted to Jammu and Kashmir leader Engineer Rashid, accused in the terror funding case being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), for election related purposes. On this, the bench headed by Justice Krishna remarked that you can file nomination even while sitting in jail.
Tahir is accused of Delhi riots
Let us tell you that on December 24, the Delhi High Court had issued a notice to the Delhi Police on Hussain’s petition seeking bail in the case of murder of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer Ankit Sharma in the 2020 riots. Violence broke out in North East Delhi on 24 February 2020, in which 53 people were killed and many were injured.
